DB SCHMITT, ERDREICH, 6 Bottle Case 75cl

An exciting combination of varieties, an even more exciting wine: Bacchus, Muscat, Pinot Blanc and Riesling, which were fermented separately on their skins and later cuvéetted, come together in a light, floral-scented and spring-like light wine with only 11 percent Alcohol. Lots of citrus peel, lots of hops and also a touch of its not-so-permitted cousin cannabis (yes, the two types of plants come from the same Cannabaceae family - smart ass mode OFF), elderflower, Granny Smith and some exotic fruit. Tastes as fresh as it smells, citric-tart and juicy and with a pleasantly subtle tannin with a light body. So Skin contact also works glouglou! Give the wine large glasses and a lot of air and the full potential will unfold.

Bianca and Daniel Schmitt's - Erdreich a benchmark for German orange wine. Blossoming, mash, time are the 3 words Bianca and Daniel Schmitt use to describe their wine.

Erdreich is a cuvée made from Bacchus (60%), Gelber Muskateller (20%), Pinot Blanc & Riesling (20%) The four grape varieties were spontaneously fermented separately on the mash for four weeks after hand-picking without stalks. The grape varieties were then assembled in 1,200 liter wooden barrels.

A few must haves
