- The Swartland’s soils consist of the Cape’s great granite, sandy loams but also schists and shales which are the two that inform this Syrah. 50% whole bunch, 50% whole berry, the bright tannic structure of this comes from the stems and the soils. A skinny Syrah more bones than flesh, more Nguni than Heiffer, and the better for it. No two vintages have quite been the same – same schist, different day.
