If the wine world was a school, Can Virgili would be the playground
Xitxarel·lo is a wine made from Xarello from a single farm, Mas Cortei, located at 340 metres of altitude in the municipality of Granada del Penedés. The vines were planted in the 50s on clay-sandy soils.
The harvest is performed by hand. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they go through cold maceration for 8 hours to preserve all their aromas. After a gentle pressing, the must is settled, and then transferred to stainless steel deposits, where it will ferment at a controlled temperature (16ºC) for 20 days. After the fermentation, it is left to rest for 5 weeks on its fine lees with periodic batonnages. The wine is filtered and clarified before it is poured into bottles screen printed with more than 50 funny swear words.
Xitxarel·lo is a creamy, pleasant and fresh wine. On the nose, it stands out for its varietal aromas, ripe white fruit, and citric notes with floral hints. An easy to drink wine with slight volume.
