Weingut Thorle are a craft winery owned and run by brothers Christoph and Johannes. They work exclusively with small sustainable sites that adhere to organic practices and are world-renowned for creating some of the best natural wines coming out of Germany.
When it comes to expression, these guys nail it-every vintage. They also ensure that the fruit used in the wines is of the best quality possible, harvested from vineyards planted on clay, limestone and red sandy loam soils perfect for fresh, mineral wines.
Slightly smoky scents of red and black berries with nutty, earthy-mineral tones and floral nuances. So clean and ripe on the palate; fresh and rather cool fruit, though abundant, and contrasted with slightly nutty and smoky wood notes, a hint of meatiness and chalky-mineral tones. Fine, lithe, youthful tannins. Juicy and tangy with good persistence, and a cocoa-dusted, taut finish. Sublime.
