This is organic, unoaked Vermentino made on chalk mineral soils at the highest point of NW Sardinia. Only a few thousand bottles are made each year, so this is a wine that along with top vineyard site, terroir and winemaking, also comes with scarcity.
The wine is a beautiful, balanced display of everything you imagine when you think about Italian white wine in the sunshine. It holds a complex smorgasbord of flavours fresh, sweet, savoury and also mineral including grapefruit, crunchy peach, green apple, asparagus, green salad notes, fresh peppers. It has a mineral-driven palate which has a ‘wet slate’ edge and character to it, with just a touch of sweetness. A fresh, expressive and fantastic example of the wines of Sardinia – because of its 270-degree mistral of the coastal breeze, it also holds a beautiful, attractive saline undertone.
