Olivier Riviere, Vino de Espana “Trotamundos Pie Franco” 6 Bottle Case 75cl

Equivalent Bottle Price £30.79

Trotamundos Pie Franco is a red wine made in the region of Toro (Zamora) by the French winemaker based in Spain, Olivier Rivière, but without a Toro Denomination of Origin, due to its particular elaboration, so it goes on the market as table wine. It comes from a very old vineyard, planted at the end of the 19th century in the town of Venialbo, from the pre-phylloxera period, which is why we find so-called strains with frank foot, that is, without grafting. It is powerful, mature and with a certain mineral character. Craftsman and with true village style.

Olivier studied oenology in Bordeaux and then worked in the Marmandais and Burgundy. His dream was to set up himself in Fitou but a job offer to convert a vineyard to biodynamics in La Rioja Alavesa took him to Spain. A couple of years later, in 2009, he bought fruit from a local grape grower and made his very first wine. From there, he acquired 4 hectares in Arlanza and the production really kicked in.

A few must haves
