Porongurup is off the beaten track and one of Western Australia’s hidden gems. It is here, just east of Mount Barker, that Guy Lyons is making some stellar wines. Grapes are sourced from his family’s Springview vineyard, where the vines were planted on ancient lateritic gravels in 1985. The vineyard faces the ocean and the grapes enjoy a long growing season. Riesling is the sleeper hit here along with exemplary, exhilarating Chardonnay. Both wines are adorned with gorgeous Bella Kelly artworks.
