Lovely, balanced Chardonnay from the Santa Ynez Valley in California. The grapes are partly aged in old barrels, partly in amphora, so it's lean and layered. Lemony fresh fruit, some soft minerals, great acidity. The oak is subtle, and the texture is silky from partial malolactic fermentation.
Lo-Fi only use neutral barrels, naturally occurring yeasts and minimal sulphite additions, so this is an honest expression of a new world Chardonnay.
