Domaine Danjou-Banessy, IGP Côtes Catalanes “Coste” 6 Bottle Case 75cl

Equivalent Bottle Price £25.49

Coste Danjou Banessy Espira de l'Agly, biodynamic wine, dry white wine, fermented and aged in barrels, racy and minerally with soft texture and generous fruit. One of the best value wines on the site for stunning quality at an unexorbitant price. This white from the Roussillon offers the fine precision and lush fruit that one might expect from top burgundy or a top Loire wine but in the Roussillon and from Macabeu. This grape has great quality potential when the yields are low and the fruit is natural and ripe.

Grapes and wine have been part of the Danjou & Banessy families for many generations. While the tradition has always been for fortified and rancio wines, the addition of vineyards during the 50’s allowed them to build a ‘library’ of old wines. In 2001, Benoit Danjou took the reins, joined by his brother, Sébastien, a few years later. They are the keepers of the family’s style, the old fortified wines stock, and have also brought their own contribution to the estate by being the first generation to produce light wines. Their wines are beautifully racy, elegant, softly textured and very ‘modern’ in their freshness and balance.

A few must haves
