A classic Vouvray sec, complex and concentrated with vibrant acidity which gives it a rich mouth feel and long finish. Citrus fruit, light bitter-lemon finish, balanced on a base of saline minerality. Aging potential (10 years minimum).
This cuvée is best enjoyed at 10° C with a great aperitif, or try it with oven roasted Dover sole coated in an orange, raisin and almond crust with garlic infused wild rice!
Clos de la Meslerie is a property that dates back to the early 1600s and grapes have been grown there ever since. The current vines are between 20 and 60 years old, a mere 2 hectares of them around the beautiful manor house. From the four plots on slightly different soils and exposures, Peter makes only one wine: a true expression of Chenin Blanc in a given year. In 2013, he made a sparkling Chenin for the first time.
