Julien Courtois, VDF ”Autochtone” 6 Bottle Case 75cl

Equivalent Bottle Price £39.99

Autochtone Romorantin Julien Courtois, natural wine, no added sulphur, unique flavours. 100% Romorantin, a rare grape grown in the Loire, Autochtone is a rare delight, a wine of immense complexity whose precision and definition in youth expands into a complex multitude of flavours and layers with age. Taught as all Julien's wines are with defining acidity, Autochtone has amazing balance, minerality and of course drinkability. Both fruity and savoury, this is not wine for crispy Sauvignon Blanc devotees, it is something different for those who love to explore wine and the myriad of different flavours and textures the grape can give us. Brilliant wine. New vintage is delicious.

Created in 1998 in Soings-en-Sologne, Clos de la Bruyère was founded by Julien Courtois, son of the famous (and infamous!) Claude Courtois, from Domaine Les Cailloux du Paradis. His passion for wine was born when he started learning how to run a vineyard and make wine with his father. Like his father, Julien’s aim has always been to make wines from low yielding vineyards in order to reach optimal concentration. With 4,5 hectares of vines, Julien works in close relation with natural cycles and waits for perfect maturity to harvest the grapes. The whole estate is harvested by hand and work in the cellar is left to the simplest expression.
