Jose Gil, Cuvee La Canoca, 6 Bottle Case, 75cl

Jose is making micro cuvees in his ancient cellar under the village of San Vicente from old, high altitude bush trained vines in the Alavesa hills. He worked in Burgundy and Mosel, and his lightness of touch is something to behold. A future star for sure.

Tempranillo, Viura. 0,40 ha of 50yo vines at an Altitude of 540 m. The soil is Clay and Limestone with plenty of wild herbs (Thyme,Rosemary) Tempranillo and a small percentage of Viura. Manual harvest in 200kg bins.100% Destemmed and all the plots are made separately. The final coupage is in the bottle. Aging in used 300 liter barrels around 10 months in the medieval cellar in the San Vicente`s Castle.
