Gut Oggau, Maskerade (red), 6 Bottle Case, 1litre

Maskerade Red Gut Oggau, biodynamic conversion, Blaufrankisch/Zweigelt, new wine from Oggau estate, not yet part of the family but on the way! This new red from the Iconic Oggau estate in Burgenland comes from fruit from a new vineyard recently acquired and undergoing conversion to biodynamic farming. The masked character represents the fact that these vines are not quite ready to be included in the Gut Oggau family as until they were acquired, they haven't been farmed according to the Oggau philosophy of natural production. The wines are made in the cellar in the same way and do not lack vibrancy, style and freshness as with all the Gut Oggau family. As this new vineyard develops, these wines will likely become part of the family but now, they are bottled differently (1 litre) and come in at a great price.

Gut Oggau is a 20-hectare estate located in the small market town of Oggau, on Lake Neusiedl in the Austrian province of Burgenland. The estate is run by Stephanie and Eduard Eselböck-Tscheppe, whose focus on quality is a permanent quest. As members of the Demeter Association, they truly understand the significance of biodynamic cultivation. Their aim is to achieve a natural balance in the vineyards and to process the grapes as gently as possible so that the wines can achieve their utmost potential. All their wines are vineyard-specific and express both the vine age and character of the terroir. Each wine is striking as an individual, and together they form a unique wine family. With only 15 to 18,000 bottles a year, Gut Oggau’s wines are one of Austria’s most sought-after.
