DOMAINE ELIAN DA ROS, Côtes du Marmandais, LE VIN EST UNE FETE ROUGE, 6 Bottle Case 75cl

A bright ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, scents of sweet cherries, cassis and toasted oak. On the palate, ripe and plummy with plenty of juicy acidity. Notes of spicy red fruits leading to a lingering finish. Drink with confit de canard with ceps and a walnut salad, roasted squash with sage leaves and cinnamon or pan-fried breasts of pheasant with bacon and wild mushrooms.

The organic domaine of Elian da Ros was founded in the mid-1990's and is situated in the Cotes du Marmandais just to the east of Bordeaux. There are 16 hectares in total, of which 8 are in biodynamie. Elian worked with Olivier Humbrecht in the Alsace and also at Grange des Peres in the Languedoc so has an impeccable vinous pedigree. 'Fete Rouge' is a a blend of 60% Merlot plus equal quantities of Arbouriou and Cabernet Franc, all grown on limestone and clay soil. The resulting wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. As the name suggests, this is a characterful red - a party in your mouth!
