Azienda Agricola Divella, Spumante Metodo Classico “Blanc de Noirs” 6 Bottle Case 75cl

Equivalent Bottle Price £47.00

Wow! Blanc de Noirs Metodo Classico by Divella is a wonderful sparkling wine full of personality, produced from Pinot Noir grapes and aged for 42 months on lees. Alessandra kept this new experiment in her cellar for a long time before presenting it: now it really shows all its aging potential and its deep elegance.Using only red grapes, it ferments in tonneau and concrete tanks and rests on the lees in bottle before the final dégorgement.

On the nose expect yeast and crusty bread on the palate is smooth and encompassing. Straight to the point, no-frills. Artisanal Wine, made with old style methods.

Alessandra Divella is the Italian answer to growing Champagne, on track to upend the industrial farming practices rampant in Franciacorta. Her vines have been organic from the start and her two hectares, on lease for thirty years from an older neighbour, teem with life, including rosehip and praying mantises. The aim is to eventually move toward perulture.

Grapes are always hand-harvested and treated gently. Zero sulfur / zero dosage, Alessandra’s wines are 100% Traditional Method. The wines are so concentrated into their provenance of clay and limestone that your mouth will salivate for minutes (if not hours) afterwards. With less than a decade of winemaking experience under her wing, Alessandra has already achieved pioneer status within the region as one of the first estates to farm organically and the first to be female-led. The quality of these wines is outstanding, especially when it is only the beginning of Alessandra career as a winemaker.
