Colour; bright and brilliant-recalls the skin of red onions. The perlage is fine and long-lasting. On the nose, initial floral and fruity scents are secondly accompanied by balsamic puffs and notes of crusty bread and yeast. Consistent and smooth with a beautiful fragrance and excellent length. Divine.
Alessandra Divella is the Italian answer to growing Champagne, on track to upend the industrial farming practices rampant in Franciacorta. Her vines have been organic from the start and her two hectares, on lease for thirty years from an older neighbour, teem with life, including rosehip and praying mantises. The aim is to eventually move toward perulture.
Grapes are always hand-harvested and treated gently. Zero sulfur / zero dosage, Alessandra’s wines are 100% Traditional Method. The wines are so concentrated into their provenance of clay and limestone that your mouth will salivate for minutes (if not hours) afterwards. With less than a decade of winemaking experience under her wing, Alessandra has already achieved pioneer status within the region as one of the first estates to farm organically and the first to be female-led. The quality of these wines is outstanding, especially when it is only the beginning of Alessandra career as a winemaker.
