The debut 2012 of Arana Gran Reserva was awarded a platinum medal at Decanter World Wine Awards and 95 points from James Suckling. This vintage is, without a doubt, even better. We were blown away: the elegance and complexity for the price is simply astonishing. It’s a real baby 904.
Hailing from a brilliant vintage that produced perfectly balanced grapes, this wine is one for every Rioja fan’s wine rack. The blend is predominantly Tempranillo, but renowned winemaker Julio Sáenz adds 5% of Graciano to the blend – an addition he claims helps it to age gracefully. The result? A deliciously complex wine awarded 96 points by Decanter. Expect plush flavours of red plum, blackberry and blueberry with developed notes of coffee, vanilla and cinnamon from a lengthy three years ageing in oak.
